Although psychological themes are omnipresent in the works of Alexius Meinong and his students, their theory of mind received considerably less attention in literature than the object theory, which somehow became the hallmark of the Meinong School. This volume is intended to partially fill this gap. Its primary goal is to restore the balance between object theory and Meinongian psychology by exploring several facets of the latter from both a historical and a contemporary perspective.

This book comprises three sections. Section 1 is dedicated to the relationship between psychology and philosophy. It critically discusses the place of psychology in Meinong's philosophical programme, his theory of colours, and his theory of "Vorstellungsproduktion". Section 2 is dedicated to Meinong's views on assumptions and emotions, while Section 3 addresses Meinong's and Benussi's analyses of perception.

Contributions gathered in this volume offer novel insights into Meinong's theory of mind which will be valuable to anyone interested in Austrian philosophy and early phenomenology. They will help the reader better appreciate the originality of Meinongian psychology and understand Meinong's philosophy in the context of its time.
